Nykki Hardin is a very entertaining guest! I appreciate people like Nykki who show so much enthusiasm, no matter what it is they happen to be enthusiastic about. When Lisa interviews other psychics and mediums, such as in this podcast episode, it is always interesting to hear what brought the person down his or her spiritual path. Unlike some of Lisa’s other guests who realized their spiritual abilities due to a traumatic event, Nykki has always had medium and psychic abilities ever since she can remember. Nykki’s story of how she was driven to succeed due to her disadvantaged background, and how she realized when her mother died that she didn’t really have control over everything that happened in her life. It is such a difficult realization for so many people to have that illusion shattered, and it happens at different ages for various people. We don’t have control over everything that happens to us in life, and the reality is we do not have the ability to do everything. There are situations in life where we don’t have a choice about what happens to us, but we do have a choice about how we react to situations we are faced with.

Whether we are talking about a literal physical detox or not, I think everyone needs a detox of the more social, emotional, and mental variety. People often carry so much accumulated social and emotional baggage due to their own life experiences. I agree with Lisa that sometimes we are influenced so much by our social programming that we begin to think that our social programming is the reality of how things work and we need to remind ourselves that is not necessarily the case. We all view reality through the filters of our own life experiences and way of thinking. It also seems there are many people stuck in the past who feel bad about something they did or something that was done to them. We can only move forward with where we are in the moment. We are not able to change the past, we can only change the future, and we can only change the future by doing things in the moment we are in that can end up affecting the future. As Lisa says sometimes, the present moment is really the only one where we have power.

Nykki gives some of the best advice I have ever heard on your podcast about what people should do who are grieving. I love how she tells people who are grieving to be gentle, slow down, and give themselves permission to experience the grief and let it flow and pass through. It is also great how she says people need to know there is nothing wrong with someone who is grieving, and it should not be viewed as something that needs fixed, instead it is process that a person goes through of experiencing the emotions and then letting them go.

You actually make it seem so easy along with your presentation however I find this topic to be actually
one thing that I believe I might by no means understand.
It sort of feels too complicated and very large for me.
I’m taking a look ahead on your next submit, I’ll try to get the dangle of it!
